AN IDEEA, ONE DREAM, ONE HOPE
For Comana and its environments, for Giurgiu county and also for southern Romania
There is somewhere in Giurgiu County, in which water, sky and land are rarely mixed, creating an unique place, in which the nature flew its complete beautifulness.
It is here an 8000sm plain, including Comana Pond – near Comana Forest, in its Southern side.
1.Terms of reference: “COMANA EUROPEAN VILLAGE”
An original idea, based on human approaching, both social and cultural, of UE nations.
2. The object of the program
It is proposed to be realized a tourist's complex, in which are included all needed utilities of comfort in a vacation private village and 27 small cottages with 4 seats each, and an characteristic architecture for every 27 members and future members of EU.
The cottages will have names as: Greek Cottage, French Cottage, Swedish Cottage, Romanian Cottage, etc.
3. The purpose of the program
It is meant to be applied the idea of integration within achieving cooperation, communication and approaching between communities of different EU countries;
The “Comana European Village” Project will initiate a new vision of tourism management, by revalue the human being-nature relation;
This tourist's centre is dedicated to accommodate both Romanian and foreign tourists, with a passionate desire for leaving and resting in a beautiful place like Comana and it's environments are, passionate of walking, fishing and hunting;
Another destination is educational one fore children, both Romanian and foreign students, who could have a knowledge, within the scholar camp, the architecture of each EU specific cottage;
Fundamentals forming for special programs for education;
Meeting places for politics and protocol.
4. Opportunities
Accommodation in luxury, national specific cottages;
Agreement within:
- Club entertainment: billiards, bowling, bar, TV seeing;
- Swimming pool;
- Sportive fishing and hunting: arrangement of hunter’s cottage; reed towers, fishing ground and it’s preparing facilities;
- Terrace restaurant on the lake’s bank.
Routes in the area:
- Walking around the lake and on boat on the arranged side of the lake;
- Sight-seeing to the nearby tourist objectives like: dendrology park (since 1895), ”Mihai Viteazu” Museum from Calugareni, Comana Monastery (since 1462), Gostinari Monastery, the Mironesti Monarchal Cottage (ancient local Lord), Fantanele Forrest with its natural reservation of Ruscus and Margaritar etc.;
- Mihai Bravu Shooting Range with the possibility of target shooting;
Possibilities to arrange Cruises on Danube River.
5. The extant infrastructure
There is a 8000sm plain – just on Comana Forrest limit, partial including Comana Pond;
12 seats villa with modern and comfortable arranged rooms;
Hunter’s cottage with kitchen and sanitary groups;
Reed towers around the lake;
A delimited area of about 2 km assuring the security of the project.
6. Proposed solutions
This project wants to realize a multifunctional tourist’s complex, in which are included:
Arrangements of old Neajlov’s riverbed – the actual Comana Pond – and materializing a new artificial lake, by integrating in the local and natural environment, and also by attaching it to the actual water flows;
Vertical systematization of landscape, in order to avoid flood possibilities;
Achieving some carriageable roads and pedestrian paths, in order to functional solving of traffic, separating main roads from the services ones;
Achieving 3 new accommodation areas by housing 27 European national cottages;
Arrangements regarding leisure time: terrace restaurant with island accessibility, club-bar and swimming pool, motor boats and motor scooters to let, tennis grounds with locker room, golf ground and fishing ground with specific arrangements for sportive fishing;
Arrangements for services: warehouse/store facilities, different preparations, wash-house, administrative facilities;
Public utilities nets: current, drinking water, sewer, gas, electricity;
Ecologic and economic sources for heating;
Modern systems for telecommunications.
7. What do we need
Extra financing for our proposed project;
Infrastructure’s development in the area;
Arrangements for tourist’s routes, historic monument’s repairing;
Economic and politic support.
8. The impact of this program in the region
Development of public utilities nets for native people;
New jobs facilities for people and socio-professional re-orientation;
Identification, distinguishing and valued, both economic and touristy, the potential oh the important places, together with their historic importance;
Distinguishing and restoring memorial houses, old cottages and places and their readmission in economic circle;
Extensive program regarding restoring and consolidating worship locations (churches, hermitages, monasteries), many of them ruined, abandoned, in bad maintenance;
Extensive activities regarding sanitation, enforcing EU concept about environment’s protection in project’s contact area (both urban and countryside).
The imposed measures will lead to up-growing living style of those included in this area. The project is expected to introduce in tourist’s circuit, all Southern Bucharest forts, in which could be arranged wine cellars, restaurants, old wine collections, mushrooms farms etc.
